The Melting Snow

£120.00Price

Daisy aged 11yrs

Daisy lives very close to The Yorkshire Wildlife Park and loves to visit and see the Polar Bears. Something she always observes is how birds always sit amongst the bears as if they are friends and having a chat. These bears are safe and have a lovely life but Daisy is aware that Polar Bears in their natural habitat are endangered due to climate change. As she grows older she is becoming more passionate about wildlife and our natural world and how it is endangered. It is for this reason Daisy wants to raise as much as possible for WWF and more importantly raise more awareness of the challenges these animals face.

When we had a great snowy day, Daisy piled snow on the canvas and then put blues and silver paint on the snow. It was carried carefully inside, placed on a towel and she waited for the snow to melt. So, she sat thare just like the Polar Bear, watching the snow and ice melt away! What developed after was this beautiful, thinking Polar Bear watching the snow melt away. Daisy hopes this will make everybody think!
